Last week was much better in regards to my painting time. I made good progress on ahriman. I should be able to finish him this week to start with my next model, Kairos Fateweaver. Really looking forward to start painting him.

It may sound strange for a player which owns a lot of space wolves but since i play i wanted to have a thousand sons army. I actually don’t know why i never bought one. Probably there where other stuff which was more important at that time i don’t know.
As Games workshop released the thousand sons again i instantly felt in love with some of the models. So i decided to finish the stuff i bought from forgeworld during our summer holidays and then decide if i still want to paint some of them . So i finished everything , still thought they look cool and then bought these three thousand sons sorcerers. Lovely miniatures if you ask me !
When it comes to painting i have the worse habit that i normally can’t paint stuff the way everything else does. I also wasn’t so amazed by the paint scheme gw chose because i think the gold is too dominant and overused. So when i painted the Cerastus Knight Acheron i used the chance to try out a idea i had how to paint mine. And it really helped. But still the first sorcerer i painted was really hard to paint for me. I probably painted the crown of the head three times trying out different combinations of colors. It was surprisingly hard to me to figure out what color i wanted to paint each piece. Some people use color theories to figure out their colors, and i use it from time to time to, but for me its more about the feeling i have when choosing colors. Some choices just feel right for me. So i needed a long time to get the first sorcerer painted. Some times i was really frustrated because i couldn’t figure out how i wanted him to look. In the end it was IMO definitely worth the effort. Im also a little bit proud about it because i think i was able to push my limit of what im able to paint a little bit higher than before. I love my space wolves and they’re not painted bad but the sons just look better.

At least on the battlefield. At Saturday, the 3.1 6 people have met to play a little apocalypse game.
Tyranids, Thousand Sons and imperial renegades on the one side, Grey Knights, Blood Angels, Black Templars and Space Wolves on the other. Both sides fielded 4500 points. The atmosphere was very good and i suppose everybody had a lot of fun. We don’t have any great rules discussions or something else. Unfortunately , the pictures are not soooo good because of the poor light and i made them with my smartphone camera. I forgot my good camera at home. But hopefully you can get a insight into the game ! Enjoy the pictures !
zumindest auf dem Spielfeld. Samstag den 3.11 haben sich 6 Leute zusammengefunden, um eine kleines Apocalypsespiel zu schlagen.
Tyraniden, Thousand Sonds und Imperiale Renegaten auf der einen, Grey Knights, Blood Angels, Black Templars und Space Wolves auf der anderen Seite . Beide Seiten führten 4500 Punkte ins Feld.
Ich denke wenn ich die allgemeine Stimmung richtig eingeschätzt habe dass es allen 6 beteiligten Spielern großen Spaß gemacht hat. Auch wirkliche Streitigkeiten und große Regeldiskussionen gab es zum Glück nicht.
Dann bleibt mir nur noch zu hoffen, dass euch die Bilder einen kleinen Eindruck des Spiels vermitteln können. Leider ist die Qualität eher schlecht, da ich sie unter schwierigen Lichtverhältnissen mit meiner Handykamera machen musste. Die gute Digitalkamera habe ich leider zu Hause vergessen.
So, tada, der zweite meiner Dönnerwölfe ist fertig geworden. Und das, obwohl mir der gute was seine Pose angeht doch etwas Kopfzerbrechen bereitet hat. Als ich das Model das erste mal auf ein Base geklebt habe, um einen Eindruck von seiner Pose zu bekommen sah das ehrlich gesagt etwas komisch aus. Komisch in dem Sinne, dass optisch für mich irgendwie kein Grund da gewesen ist, warum denn dieser Wolf springen sollte. Ich versuche bei einen Modell nach Möglichkeit mit den Bases die Pose der Modelle noch etwas zu verdeutlichen oder zu unterstreichen. In diesem Fall habe ich einen kleinen Zaun improvisiert, über welchen der Gute dann springen durfte. Das Model ist dadurch sicherlich nicht zu meinem Lieblingsmodell unter den Donnerwölfen mutiert, aber ich kann mich doch schon eher damit anfreunden. Sieht doch ganz gut aus .
Da heute mein erster Donnerwolf “fertig” geworden ist, wollte ich die Bilder natürlich auch online stellen. Da die letzten Bilder ja Belichtungstechnisch etwas ungünstig waren habe ich mich mal umgesehen wie das andere Leute so machen. Probiert habe ich es nach dieser Anleitung. Vielen dank an dieser Stelle für den Author der Anleitung.
Der Space Marine im Vordergrund soll keinen Blood-Angel darstelle, sondern einen Thousand-Sons aus der Pre-Häresie Ära. Auch wenn die Art der Rüstung nicht in die Zeit passt musste ich leider mit dem Vorlieb nehmen was ich da hatte 🙂
